Valient Thorr - "immortalizer"

I first saw Valient Thorr quite by accident two summers ago on the Warped Tour. On the day the tour hit Camden, NJ, it was just over 100 degrees outside. My friend and I looking for someplace to keep cool found that the covered over amphitheater was being utilized as a stage area. I don't think we cared who was playing on it, as long as we were in the shade we'd be ok even if it was a screamo band.

Much to our delight what we saw when we sat down was Valient Thorr, a classic hard rock band that sounds to me like Lemmy singing for Black Sabbath.

On June 17th, 2008 Valient Thorr returns with their new CD, "immortalizer". The CD is a continuation of what they do best, mixing classic metal riffs with socio-politically charged lyrics about our society. It's music for head banging, and head thinking (yeah, it's a little bit of a cheesy line but it's appropriate).

The energy on this album is unmistakable, as is the talent. "Immortalizer" is the best hard rock/metal album I've heard so far this year, and sets the bar high for all other contenders.

But really the only thing I want to leave you remembering is VALIENT THORR ROCKS!
